We recently had the opportunity to visit JCB World Headquarters in Rocester to document the assembly of one of the company’s flagship agricultural machines: the JCB 542-100 AGRIPRO Loadall.
This visit offered a rare, behind-the-scenes look at JCB’s world-class manufacturing process — and a chance to observe firsthand the engineering expertise, craftsmanship, and production precision that define a market-leading telehandler.
Engineered for Modern Agriculture
The 542-100 AGRIPRO is a standout in JCB’s premium Loadall lineup. With a 10-metre reach and the highest lift capacity in its class, it delivers significant performance advantages — all while maintaining the same compact footprint as the 536-95.
Purpose-built for the demands of modern farming, this machine combines strength, efficiency, and versatility, making it a reliable asset for agricultural professionals. The unit we followed was finished in a distinctive red, catching the eye as it progressed through each stage of production.
Documenting the Build Process
Our objective was to capture the complete assembly journey — from the bare chassis to final inspection — while remaining unobtrusive within a live, fast-paced production environment.
To do so, our two-person media team employed a hybrid handheld and gimbal shooting setup to ensure both flexibility and stability. We used both Prime lenses for sharp, cinematic image quality and zoom lenses to provide visual range and capture intricate details;
This approach enabled us to move efficiently through the production line, documenting each key stage — from welding and boom installation to cab assembly, system integration, and quality control checks.
