Dream Big Travel Far:
A Culinary Celebration in Serbia
Captures the MICHELIN Masterclass in Serbia
The team headed to Serbia to capture the MICHELIN Masterclass an exclusive event held in collaboration with the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia, hosted at the elegant Twenty Two restaurant on the 10th floor of the iconic Metropol Palace in Belgrade. The Masterclass was led by acclaimed Italian chefs Chiara Pavan and Francesco Brutto, who brought their expertise and passion for sustainable cuisine to the heart of the Balkans.
Gathering a distinguished group of chefs whose restaurants have been selected by The MICHELIN Guide inspectors for 2024, the event showcased the region’s exceptional culinary talent and celebrated a shared commitment to outstanding dining experiences.
Sustainability was a core focus of the Masterclass, emphasizing zero-waste and eco-conscious cooking philosophies. The day began with a visit to the renowned Kalenic farmers market, where chefs sourced seasonal vegetables and locally grown ingredients. These fresh, regional finds formed the foundation of the day’s menu—highlighting Serbia’s rich culinary heritage and a thoughtful, sustainable approach to gastronomy.
Photographing live culinary events demands sharp instincts and constant awareness, like having eyes in the back of your head. Armed with two Sony A7 IV cameras, fitted with a 70–200mm f/2.8 and a 50mm prime lens, we were able to move swiftly and compose dynamic shots. The rooftop location, filled with natural light, meant minimal reliance on flash, except for select portraits and group shots where subtle remote lighting was added to great shape.
What unfolded was a vibrant day of collaboration, creativity, and cultural exchange, as chefs came together to craft an unforgettable dining experience—rooted in sustainability, local flavor, and world-class culinary excellence.
